Less than 24 hours to the launch of my book and I'm getting kind of excited now.
The book is published by Derby Books – in Derby – but printed, for reasons best known to them, in Malta. We had been expecting finished copies from the printer about ten days ago, but they only arrived yesterday into Derby, so as you can imagine it's been a pretty fraught and anxious few days.
Derby Books were busy adding the "Win £1000" stickers yesterday, and now I have my first copies, just in time for the big launch at the Victoria Commercial Hotel tomorrow. Hopefully lots of people will come and it will be a good night.
I've even signed my first copy. The honour of being the first person to ask for my autograph goes to Janet Elam of Wakefield - whose husband Richard's family used to run the Templar Hotel, one of the pubs featured in the book, as it happens. Richard's 50 soon - and the book is a birthday present.
Anyhow, I'm hoping to add to this blog over the coming weeks and months. I'll be posting up pub reviews, comments, snippets and – who knows - perhaps even some little helpful pointers towards that big cash prize. No promises mind.
