The judging is complete for the 2011 British Beer Writer of the Year Awards.
As last year's winner, I was invited to chair the panel, and was joined by brewer Martin Kellaway from Wharfebank Brewery, journalists Fiona Matthias of the Sunday Telegraph and Martin Ross of the Yorkshire Evening Post, and freelance publisher Jo Copestick.
We each shortlisted several categories, before meeting for a final judging session at the Victoria Commercial Hotel in Leeds.
We all really enjoyed reading the entries - which were of an encouragingly high standard – and after some lively debate, and some great beer, we finally came up with a list of winners who we agreed on.
And the winners are...
...to be revealed at the British Guild of Beer Writers dinner on December 1.
